DDP High Desert Ranch!
Hi
there!! We’re Dan & Debbie Price.
(Debbie was formerly known as Debbie
Watkins of the WKN brand and
WatkinsPaints.com.) Dan & I met in
2007 and were married in 2008 and
live on our beautiful 146 acre ranch
on the Sprague River in Sprague
River, Oregon. The Watkins Ranch has
now become the DDP High
Desert Ranch. Our new
brand and horse name prefix will be:
DDP. We
are starting a new business:
DDP High Desert Equine
Transport, LLC.
Debbie
has been breeding, training and
showing Quarter Horses and Paints
for 40 years. She bred, foaled,
raised, trained and showed
Macho Town Chica to a
Supreme Championship
and WKN Chicas Icon
to a multiple World
Championship. She has
worked for many Veterinarians in
past years and has been breeding AI,
ultrasounding her our own mares,
foaling, collecting stallions and
processing their semen for transport
as well as the day to day treatment
of colic and lacerations, etc. for
over 30 years. She has also been
driving commercially with a Class
"A" CDL in "big rigs" (18 wheelers)
for 22 years. She has never had a
citation or an accident and has
multiple driving awards. She even
has experience on Canada’s famous
"ice" roads!
Dan is a 22 year retired veteran of
Law Enforcement having supervised
and been a dog handler with the
canine unit for many years in
California. He has worked with
animals his whole life including
breeding and AI of cattle and
working with horses. He has been
transporting his own horses for many
years as well. He is an avid
horseback rider who prefers to ride
the wilderness.
Dan &
Deb have decided to combine their
talents and start a new business
together: DDP High
Desert Equine Transport, LLC.
We will be transporting horses
throughout the USA beginning
summer of 2009. We will continue to
breed our fine horses on a limited
basis and should have one or two
foals available each year until we
retire from transporting and get
back into full breeding production.
We have also acquired a gorgeous
German bred German Shepherd, "Nikos",
who will be traveling with us. Nikos
is currently in training for his
Schutzhund title and will be used as
our stud dog after he is titled.
DDP High Desert Ranch is located in
the beautiful state of Oregon, right
in the midst of gorgeous mountains
and bubbling rivers!
Macho Town Chica is the embodiment of DDP
High Desert Ranch's breeding program. She is
the only living APHA Supreme Champion. Her first foal, WKN Chicas Icon,
is proof of her ability to produce a winning halter horse. He took the
2007 Open APHA Aged Stallion World Championship honors and unanimously won the
APHA World Champion Amateur Aged Stallion, and also won the 2007 PtHA World
Champion Aged Stallion and the President’s Cup (Champion of World Champions!!).
We have trimmed down our breeding stock, but have kept the cream of the crop.
We are still dedicated to breeding and producing the finest double registered
Paints & Quarter Horses with kind dispositions, superior minds, awesome
conformation and wonderful movement. Our goal is to provide our customers with
a WINNING halter horse that will
perform competitively in today's specialized performance classes.
